Minimum Quantity and Whole Number Override
The store configuration allows you to set the minimum quantity (default = 0.5) for your store. There are instances, though, where you might want to set a different minimum quantity, such as a sale item, or special cuts of fabric. The store software now has a feature that will allow the minimum quantity to be changed on a per-category or per-item basis.

Also, by default, the the store software will accept decimal numbers or fractions for quantities (this may be turned off by request.)
There are many instances, though, such as books, patterns, notions, etc., where accepting fractional quantities is not desirable (such as ordering 1/2 of a book!) The store software now has a feature that will only allow whole (integer) numbers to be used on a per-category or per-item basis.

Minimum Quantity Override Instructions
Minimum Quantity Category Override
The Category Override is accomplished by adding --mnumber to the end of the category name. The number can be either a whole number like 1, or a decimal number like .75, however, on a decimal number the dot must be replaced by an underscore (_), as a dot is not legal character in either a category name or product ID number. For example, if you have a category named sales_1, and wanted to make a minimum quantity of 1-1/2 yards in that category, then the category would be renamed
sales_1--m1_5
If you rename an existing category you MUST rebuild the menu for it to take effect.

Minimum Quantity Product ID Override
An individual item may receive an override by placing the --mnumber at the end of the product ID in the same manner as the Minimum Quantity Category Override above. If a category override and an Product ID override are both present the product ID is in a category that has an override, the override value of the Product ID will be used.

Whole Number Override Instructions
Whole Number Category Override
The Whole Number Category Override is accomplished by adding --mi to the end of the category name.
For example, if you have a category books_1, then renaming the category to
books_1--mi
Would force the catalog to only accept whole numbers for any item within that category. If you rename an existing category you MUST rebuild the menu for it to take effect.

Whole Number Product ID Override
The Whole Number Product ID Override is accomplished by adding --mi to the end of the product ID. See the instructions above for categories.

Combination Override Instructions
Both whole number and minimum order overrides may be placed on any category or item, simply follow the instructions for the Minimum Quantity Override and place an "i" at the end of the override.
needles_1--m10i
This setting would set a minimum quantity of 10 and only accept whole numbers.

Adding a minimum to a single item --mnumber added on to the product id.
For a minimum of 3/4 yard, for instance, you have to put in a decimal number, replacing the decimal point with an underscore. 3/4 = .75, so that converts to _75 --m_75 would be entered after the product id.
if the min order were 1-1/2 yards it would become --m1_5
You can also force an item to be ordered as a whole number only, for instance you would not ship a fractional quantity of a book, so you could use --mi to force it to be an integer.
If you had something that you wanted to be ordered as whole numbers, and a minimum quantity of 2 you could use --m2i
